DZ, Comfort Station Driver

Tomlinson Environmental Services Ottawa is currently looking for a DZ, Comfort Station Driver to join our Comfort Station Operations team.  This role is responsible for performing daily job requirements safely and efficiently.  It also requires a candidate capable of safely operating a vehicle in challenging weather conditions and varying environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Successfully work in a fast-paced environment under pressure while maintaining composure and a positive outlook.
• Safety oriented with good housekeeping practices, controlling hazards, safety awareness and a good driving record.
• Operate a Comfort Station vehicle in compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform daily cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs of portable toilets and trailers.
• Pump sewage waste from holding tanks.
• Complete daily routes and assist in other areas as directed.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external Customers, Dispatch and Management.
• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles and equipment, and report defects immediately.
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
   

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Exposure to waste materials.
• Exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous driving and route experience is an asset.
• Valid DZ license with a clean abstract.
• The ability to load, unload, pick and move portable toilets that weight 125lbs plus.
• Ability to read and understand a map or operate a GPS unit.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected salary range for this position is $25 - $27 per hour.  Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
