Job Title: Algonquin Wolves Men’s Volleyball Head Coach
Reports to: Senior Manager, Athletics and Recreation

- Promote academic success and retention of student-athletes.

- Recruit and retain high-quality student-athletes who represent the Algonquin Students’ Association
Nature and Scope
Under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Athletics and Recreation, along with the Manager, Athletic Operations - Varsity, the incumbent will select, train, and coach the team as well as lead recruitment and program development. Activities will include fundraising (if required), some administrative duties relating to travel, accommodation, meals, and student-athlete development.
This is a part-time position with evening and weekend commitments, including practices, competitions, recruitment activities, and league meetings.
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, and conduct practices, training sessions, and competitive events.
- Develop seasonal training plans, performance goals, and athlete development pathways.
- Analyze team and individual performance and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Recruit prospective student-athletes in alignment with Algonquin College admissions standards.
- Establish team standards for conduct, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Organize strength and conditioning programs in collaboration with athletics staff.
- Promote the volleyball program through community outreach and engagement activities.
- Maintain relationships with local high schools, club programs, and community partners.
- Represent the Algonquin Wolves and the Algonquin Students’ Association in a professional manner.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of coaching experience at the high school, club, or post-secondary level (post-secondary experience preferred).
- NCCP Performance Level certification or equivalent coaching credentials are recommended and will be given preference.
- Strong knowledge of OCAA and CCAA regulations and competitive volleyball standards.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Required travel throughout the season including overnight and weekend commitments.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience level of the successful candidate. Successful candidates will be compensated for all approved expenses inside of coaching duties.
Program salary range: $18,000- $26,000 annually
All coaches are hired on a part-time basis with no regular benefits.
