The Opportunity

Build the Future With Us – As a Construction Materials Field Technician based in our Ottawa office, you’ll support the quality and integrity of infrastructure across Southwestern Ontario. From testing aggregates and concrete to validating performance in the field, you’ll be part of the work that strengthens communities and moves our world forward.

Your Impact

  • Conduct field testing for aggregates, concrete, soils, asphalt, and additional construction materials.
  • Complete certified testing procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to technical standards.
  • Record, interpret, and input test data to produce clear, accurate, and client‑ready reports.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean equipment to uphold safety and quality requirements.
  • Participate in internal quality audits and report non‑conformances.
  • Support project teams to ensure materials meet performance expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to field investigations that directly impact construction quality and project delivery.

 

 

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience with field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt materials.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and calibrating construction materials testing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian testing standards and related procedures.
  • Skilled in data interpretation, digital documentation, and report preparation.

Compensation

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $51,800 – $68,600
  • MB & ON: $47,200 – $65,000
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $47,200 – $65,000
